Crap Feature in Windows-Xp

Saturday, October 11, 2008

Hey whether your monitor window looks something similar to the screen shots shown below ???

ROTATED CLOCKWISE

ROTATED ANTI-CLOCKWISE

INVERTED

Other symptoms,
  • - your arrow keys are inverted
  • - Mouse scrolling function also inverted
Don't get puzzled... its a crap feature in windows XP...

How to fix this ???

it happens because some how " Enable HOT KEYS" option is checked ... Follow the steps below to disable it...

Start -> control panel -> Display -> settings -> Advanced -> intel Extreme Graphics -> graphic properties -> Hot keys

you will get a window as shown above... uncheck "Enable HOT KEYS" to fix the problem...

to understand it better just try the following key combination by checking "Enable HOT KEYS"

Ctrl+ Alt + right arrow
Ctrl+ Alt + left arrow
Ctrl+ Alt + down arrow
Ctrl+ Alt + up arrow

Got it !!!!

i still wonder why such features are provided in Xp ;-)

The feature exists so you could rotate your screen. Maybe you do a lot of document work and have a widescreen monitor. Wouldn't it be nice to rotate your monitor and view the entire page you're working on? Many people in my office do this.
